Adjustable Locking Hubs, rotary bearings from Carr Lane Mfg. Co., St. Louis, provide positive locking at any 10° increment. Once locked, the hubs become absolutely rigid and can withstand 80 lb-ft of torque.
They work like this: In locked position, the locking and release-pin hubs are positively engaged by high-strength locking pins. Pressing the release buttons disengages the locking pins and lets the hub rotate. After reaching the desired angle, simply release the buttons and the pins return to the locked position. Connecting two hubs at 90° gives full five-axis positioning.
Hub extensions fit 0.75-in. ID pipe or tubing and can mount to flat plates and angles. Typical applications include adjustable or rotating fixtures, welding fixtures, trunnion
