Block Cylinders with Bearing Eyes |

Rotary Valve Couplings |
Adjustable (crescent) wrenches are machined on an 8-station rotary indexing machine. Each station has positioning and clamping assemblies for three wrenches. The assemblies are designed to clamp several wrench sizes simply by changing adaptor pieces. Loading and unloading are fully automated.
| Operation sequence by station: |
| 1. |
Load and clamp three wrenches |
| 2. |
Counterbore |
| 3. |
Drill core diameter |
| 4. |
Drill |
| 5. |
Tap |
| 6. |
Countersink |
| 7. |
Deburr square hole |
| 8. |
Unclamp and eject |
The photo and drawing below show a typical clamping assembly (three per station). A Block Cylinder with Bearing Eyes is linked to a clamping lever, which carries a contoured contact button to position and clamp the workpiece.

Special Finishing Machine for Investment Castings |

Block Cylinders with Bearing Eyes |
The finishing machine in this example deburrs an investment casting with six independent cuts, and finish bores a cored hole.
| Operation sequence: |
| 1. |
Load workpiece. |
| 2. |
Press start button. |
| 3. |
Cylinder 1 (below, right) closes protective covering. |
| 4. |
Cylinder 2 (below, right) clamps workpiece.
To avoid damage due to impact, cylinder 2 is dampened. |
| 5. |
After clamping, cylinder 3 (below, right) moves the first deburring
tool around the workpiece, then back to home position. |
| 6. |
Block Clamps 4-5 (below, right) and 6-8 (below, left) perform
the next five deburring operations while boring takes place. |
| 7. |
Once finished, cylinder 2 unclamps, and cylinder 1 opens the
protective covering automatically. |
