BLOCK CYLINDERS

Universal Punching Machine for Steel Channels
Made Using Block Cylinders.

Block Cylinders

Large Block Cylinders are ideal for punching applications. This special punching machine consists of a series of modular C-frame punches, adjustably mounted along linear roller bearings. The machine punches a total of 26 square holes and four slots in a steel channel section, stopping the channel in four punching positions. To keep the machine universal, each station slides on linear roller bearings and is connected hydraulically with a flexible hose. Horizontal C-frame punches float in postion under spring pressure, to allow for slight warpage in the channels. The end stops swing in and out of position automatically after each punching stroke. Stations are arranged as follows (see drawing below):

1-13 Vertical C-frame punch
14-15 Horizontal C-frame punch
16-19 End stop
20-23 Clamp

Block Cylinders Used to Form Special Springs.

Block Cylinders

Block Cylinders are very useful for non-metal-removing operations, such as forming and bending. In this example, Block Cylinders are used in a fixture to form special springs.
