OIL-GROOVE BUSHINGS

Press-Fit Bushings (P, PM)

Head Press-Fit Bushings (H, HM)

Renewable Bushings (SF, SFM, FM)

Type 2
With Oil Hole & External Groove

FEATURES: Oil grooves are specially designed coolant passageways in a bushing's ID wall. Oil grooves are available on almost any bushing type, including press fit, head press fit, and renewable. Use when you need complete drill lubrication and cooling, such as when drilling hardened steel, or when bushings are used as bearings.

TYPE 2 (WITH OIL HOLE & EXTERNAL GROOVE): This type is our most popular. The OD groove allows coolant to flow around the bushing, then through the radial hole in the bushing's wall, to the internal oil grooves. This allows installing the bushing at any orientation, and mounting several bushings in series using a single manifold passage.

OIL GROOVE STYLES: Type 2 Oil-Groove Bushings (with Oil Hole & External Groove) are available in eight styles, to suit different operating conditions, lubrication requirements, and individual preferences:
 AJ     Helix
 AG     Helix, Open Bottom
 AH     Helix, Open Both Ends
 AO     Two Holes
 AS     Loop
 AV     Double Loop
 AP     Figure 8
 AY     Double Figure 8

SIZES & TECHNICAL DATA: Oil grooves are available for bushings with ID sizes from 3/8" to 8", and lengths from 1/2" to 8" (oil grooves stop 1/8" short of each end). Oil grooves are 1/16" wide x 1/32" deep. Oil holes are 1/4" diameter. External grooves are 5/16" wide x 3/64" deep.

ORDERING EXAMPLES:
 P-48-16-.5000-AJ   P bushing with AJ-style
oil groove, 1/2" ID
 H-48-16-.5000-AJ   H bushing with AJ-style
oil groove, 1/2" ID
 SF-48-16-.5000-AJ   SF bushing with AJ-style
oil groove, 1/2" ID

OPTIONAL WIPER: To guard against dirt and chips entering the bushing ID (usually from the drill-entrance end), order oil-groove bushings with a wiper end. Order style AAA for headless bushings, style AAB or AAC for head-type bushings (see Technical Information).
 P-48-16-.5000-AJ-AAA

MATERIAL: 1144 Stressproof steel, heat treated to achieve Rc 62-64 ID hardness. Other materials readily available by special order (see Specials).
