FEATURES: Quick Disconnects allow the fluid line to be uncoupled from a machining fixture, automatically sealing the fluid lines on both sides to prevent leakage. Easy one-hand operation without any wrenches or tools. The male Quick Disconnect is usually mounted on the fixture, with the female Quick Disconnect mounted on the hose.
OPERATION: To couple, push the female coupling’s knurled sleeve forward manually, then advance the coupling against spring force until a positive mechanical stop is reached. When the sleeve is released in this forward position, the locking balls of the female section snap into the groove of the male section for positive retention. To uncouple, pull the knurled sleeve back manually. This frees the locking balls and allows the male and female sections to disengage.
ACCESSORIES: To keep Quick Disconnects clean while uncoupled, the male coupling has a protective cap, and the female coupling has a protective plug (order separately).
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: Quick Disconnects should only be operated with both sides depressurized. When uncoupling a pressurized pallet fixture after clamping, a Shutoff Valve must be used on the fixture side.
To order complete coupling units for pallet fixtures, including a male Quick Disconnect, Shutoff Valve, Accumulator, Pressure Gauge, and Pressure-Relief Valve, see Pallet Decouplers. |
