PRESSURE-REDUCING VALVES

Manifold Mounted

FEATURES: Allows operating a single clamp, or group of clamps, at a lower pressure than the rest of the fixture. Can be used to finely adjust the clamping force of selected components while keeping others at full pressure. Great new design can be used on pallet fixtures disconnected from a power source, since no return line is needed for operation. Zero-leakage poppet design. The version shown here is used for manifold mounting on flat surfaces. Also available with standard fittings for use with exposed fluid lines, and a threaded-body version for cartridge-type manifold mounting.

OPERATION: To set up initially, turn the adjustment screw on top until the desired downstream pressure is achieved. During normal operation, Pressure-Reducing Valve automatically shuts off downstream flow when system pressure reaches the set pressure. As long as the system remains connected to the power source, the valve will reopen if additional fluid is required to maintain downstream pressure.

MANIFOLD MOUNTING: Fluid enters and exits through two O-ring ports fed by drilled fixture passages. For manifold mounting, the mounting surface must be ground flat to ensure proper O-ring sealing (32 RMS max). Fasten with four #10 or M5 cap screws. Mount in any position, horizontal or vertical. Do not use NPT fittings.

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS: When using this valve in series with other valves such as Clamping Valves, Sequence Valves, and Flow-Control Valves, the Pressure-Reducing Valve must be the one closest to the reduced-pressure clamps. When a Pressure-Reducing Valve is used in an uncoupled system, no regulation of downstream pressure is possible after disconnection, so we strongly recommend adding a Pressure-Relief Valve to guard against unwanted pressure increases caused by temperature increases, etc. (must be added to the downstream side).
