Triple Collet Vise CLR-4604-716-VS

|
3750 psi max
FEATURES: Accurate and versatile fixture for round, square, and hex-shaped workpieces (ideal for secondary operations on screw-machine parts). Uses standard 5C collets, including step collets for large diameters, expanding collets for ID clamping, and emergency collets for special shapes. Can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Height-adjustment assembly is removable for through-feeding. Available in two types: single collet and triple collet. The triple-collet version, shown here, clamps three workpieces close together in a single unit. This version has two locating holes that match up with the standard 2.0000" hole spacing of our modular-fixturing tooling plates.
SIZES: Available in one size — see Dimensions page for part number. Clamping force at 3750 psi: CLAMPING ACTION: Applying fluid pressure advances twin cylinders which push to draw the tapered collet slightly downward while the vise body remains stationary (two cylinders per collet). This locates the workpiece against an adjustable bottom rest and clamps it securely by closing the collet. Unclamping is by positive spring return.
ACCURACY: Far better accuracy and repeatability than competitive collet vises. Collet perpendicularity is +/-.001". Collet centerlines are located +/-.002" from the two locating holes. Collet spacing is +/-.002 inches. Workpiece is pulled solidly against the bottom stop for excellent height repeatability.
RELEASE MECHANISM: Collets are held by an advanced-design collar. This design makes it impossible for the collet to stick in its cavity during unclamping, guaranteeing quick and positive collet opening.
MOUNTING: Fasten using the four mounting holes provided. The two 5/8-dia locating holes allow accurate mounting on a modular tooling plate (using a CL-MF40-4501 Round Pin and a CL-MF40-4601 Diamond Pin), or directly on a machine table using two Sure-Lock Fixture Keys. Vises mount either vertically or horizontally. Adjust workpiece height using the adjustment screw inside the collet cavity. After screwing collet into vise, tighten locking setscrew to prevent rotation (remove outer cover screw first).
FLUID CONNECTION: 1/4" BSPP port. Do not use NPT fittings.
ACCESSORIES: A three-prong collet wrench is available for easy collet insertion and adjustment (CLR-100-VSA). Collets are not included.
CONSTRUCTION: Body > Steel.
