7500 psi max Single Acting
FEATURES: Arm swings clear for easy loading. Low-profile version is very low and compact, with a built-in rear arm support. Sturdy helical-cam mechanism with overload protection.
SIZES: Available in three sizes, each with a choice of clockwise or counterclockwise swing, with or without a clamping arm — see Dimensions page for part numbers. Available with 45°, 60°, and zero° swing angles by special order. Clamping force at 7500 psi with standard pivoting arm:| | 1100 Lbs | | (3 series) | | | 2700 Lbs | | (5 series) | | | 7600 Lbs | | (7 series) |
CLAMPING ACTION: Swing Clamps are pull-type cylinders where part of the total stroke is used to swing the piston, and the remaining stroke is available as the clamping range. Applying fluid pressure swings arm 90° over workpiece then clamps down. Fast, totally dependable spring return lifts arm then swings it back 90° for loading/unloading.
OVERLOAD PROTECTION: These Swing Clamps incorporate our unique safety-clutch mechanism. If the clamping arm strikes an unexpected object during its swing, the clutch disengages to avoid damaging the object or the clamp's helical-cam mechanism.
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS: Do not exceed maximum fluid flow rate in table. For extended clamp life and proper operation of the safety clutch, a simple flow-control valve may be required if the fixture is powered by a high-flow-rate power source and only contains a few clamps. Clamping time should be at least one second.
MOUNTING: Fasten with two socket-head cap screws through the two mounting slots.
FLUID CONNECTION: 1/4" BSPP port on both left and right sides. If desired, feed fluid in one side and out the other side. Do not use NPT fittings.
CLAMPING ARM: Standard pivoting arm allows operating pressures up to 7500 psi. This rugged nodular iron arm pivots on a forged steel carrier. Adjustable contact bolt and rear support bolt furnished.
CONSTRUCTION: Piston > Alloy steel, nitrated for wear and corrosion resistance. Housing > Nodular iron. Piston rod wiper > Viton. |
