7500 psi max Double Acting
FEATURES: These double-acting Block Cylinders have an extended piston rod for position monitoring (order Position-Monitoring Unit, Inductive Proximity Switches, and Connecting Cables separately). Compact design with many applications. Easy to mount on flat surfaces, horizontally or vertically. Excellent for punching, pressing, and assembly operations, with very high forces available. Can also be used for pulling, by reversing the A and B ports. Viton seals are standard, for operating temperatures up to 300° F.
SIZES: Available in eight sizes, only in short stroke lengths — see Dimensions page for part numbers. Push force at 7500 psi:| | 4800 Lbs | | | 8400 Lbs | | | 14000 Lbs | | | 22000 Lbs | | | 35000 Lbs | | | 57000 Lbs | | | 90000 Lbs | | | 140000 Lbs |
CLAMPING ACTION: Applying fluid pressure to the A port advances the plunger. Switching pressure to the B port positively retracts the plunger.
POSITION-MONITORING UNIT: This unit attaches to the bottom of the Block Cylinder with two socket-head cap screws. Choice of two orientations, rotated by 180°. A control cam is provided on the extended piston rod, causing activation of the proximity switches (switching range is approximately .24"). Switching position is adjusted by sliding the proximity switches in a lateral slot.
INDUCTIVE PROXIMITY SWITCHES: Voltage = 10-30 VDC, Ripple = 15% max, Switching function = Closing, Output signal = PNP. Choice of three types: 1) Standard, for operation temperatures up to 160°.F, with .51" minimum distance between switching positions; 2) Compact, for operation temperatures up to 160°.F, with .31" minimum distance between switching positions; 3) High Temperature, for operation temperatures up to 250°.F, with .31" minimum distance between switching positions.
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS: This type of position monitoring is not suitable for applications where coolants are used. Additional covers are required to keep away chips and debris.
MOUNTING: Several possible mounting methods: 1) insert four socket-head cap screws from the plunger end, through the four counterbored holes parallel to the plunger; 2) insert four socket-head cap screws from the bottom end, through the four counterbored holes parallel to the plunger; 3) insert two socket-head cap screws through the two broad-side holes perpendicular to the plunger. Method 3 requires that the Block Cylinder be backed up for pressures over 2300 psi by a rectangular strip or dowel pins with a height at least 1/3 of the B dimension.
FLUID CONNECTION: Two 1/4" BSPP ports. Larger sizes have 1/2" BSPP ports. Do not use NPT fittings.
CONSTRUCTION: Plunger > Steel, case hardened. Body > Steel, black oxide finish. |
