SPEEDY™ ZERO-POINT
QUICK-CHANGE MOUNTING SYSTEM

Zero-Point
Locating Post

Relieved
Locating Post

Floating Post

FEATURES: The Zero-Point Mounting System requires all fixtures to have Locating Posts installed underneath. Fixtures should generally have one Zero-Point Locating Post and one Relieved Locating Post (which work together similarly to a Round Pin and Diamond Pin, to prevent redundant location). Floating Posts can be added as required to provide additional clamping force without location. All posts have a precision-ground locating diameter and base diameter. The posts' radial groove allows the locking balls of a Speedy Clamping Module to engage for pull-down clamping.

THREE TYPES AVAILABLE: Zero-Point Locating Posts provide a solid datum for two-axis location (similar to a Round Pin). Relieved Locating Posts locate in only a single axis (similar to a Diamond Pin). Floating Posts can move .010" in all directions, so they provide additional clamping force without affecting location.

ACCURACY: Repeatability of fixture location is .0004" or better.

INSTALLATION: Locating Posts should be mounted with centers spaced 200mm (7.8740") apart, or a multiple thereof (400mm, 600mm, 800mm, etc) to match up with Speedy Clamping Plates. Installation holes should be accurately bored 25mm (.9843") diameter to 4.8mm (.189") minimum depth. Fasten with a socket-head cap screw or stud, as shown in the examples below. Please note: installation tool CLRS-804-254-ZA and socket CLRS-804 257-ZA are required for installation (15 ft-lbs recommended torque).

ACCESSORIES: To protect fixtures during transportation and storage, we recommend using a Protective Foot for each Locating Post, part number CLRS-704-130-ZA.
