CARATTERISTICHE: This Position-Flexible Pivot Clamp is a combination clamp and work support that automatically adjusts to a workpiece's position anywhere within its clamping range. This sturdy unit can firmly support unstable workpiece sections and resist machining forces from all directions, yet exerts very low displacing forces on the workpiece. Ideal for clamping and supporting in narrow recesses. The bottom support has an adjustment screw and is mountable in any of four positions to accommodate workpieces up to 2.75" thick. The pivoting clamping arm allows unimpeded loading of the workpiece. Pressure to the locking port can be controlled separately or applied automatically using a sequence valve. Clamp can be mounted in any position, horizontal or vertical. Dual mounting capability allows using standard fittings or manifold mounting. Clamps are ready for optional inductive or pneumatic position sensing.
MISURE: Available in one size, double acting only, with a choice of two versions: 1) hoses at the back or 2) hoses at the sides – see Dimensions page for part numbers. Clamping force at 3600 psi:

AZIONE DI BLOCCAGGIO: Applying fluid pressure to the A port simultaneously pivots the upper clamping jaw into position and moves the lower support jaw upward until they both contact the workpiece, exerting equal clamping force on both sides. Applying pressure to the C (locking) port can be controlled automatically with a Sequence Valve in the clamping circuit, or manually by using a second clamping circuit. Switching pressure to the B port returns the clamp to its unclamped position.
OPTIONAL POSITION SENSING: All units are ready to install position sensing. Proximity switches can be installed on either the right or left side. For inductive position monitoring, order two CLR-3829-098-PM inductive proximity switches, two CLR-3829-099-PM right-angle plugs with cable, and one CLR-4412-984-PM locator for end-of-clamping-stroke position transmitter. For pneumatic position sensing, order two CLR-4412-997-PM pneumatic jets, and one CLR-4412-984-PM locator for end-of-clamping-stroke position transmitter.
MONTAGGIO: Fasten using the four M8 socket-head cap screws furnished with the clamp.
CONNESSIONI IDRAULICO: Three 1/4" BSPP ports on the back side – A for retracting, B for extending, and C for locking. For optional manifold mounting, use the A, B, and C manifold ports underneath the clamp by unscrewing the sealing plugs and installing three CLR-3000-275-SW O-rings (also install three CLR-810-F Port Plugs in the 1/4" BSPP ports). Do not use NPT fittings.
CONSIDERAZIONE DI DESIGN: During the floating stage before clamping, the jaw that makes first contact will exert a small contact force (7 lbs maximum, depending on the stroke difference). The clamping slide should occasionally be cleaned of dirt and chips, and lubricated using the grease fitting provided. An additional, pneumatic port P (M5 thread) is provided for optional air sealing with continuous 7 psi air pressure. This helps prevent dirt and coolant from entering the unit and further reduces contact force. The aluminum clamping-unit frame should be shielded from abrasive chips.
