250 bar max Double Acting with Separate Locking Port
FEATURES: Parallel-Slide Floating Clamps automatically adjust to a work piece's position anywhere within their clamping range, applying equal force on both sides of the work piece. To secure the jaws in position, so that they no longer float, pressure to the locking port can be automatically applied using a Sequence Valve. This compact clamping element can be used for either exterior or interior clamping and supporting. Clamp can be mounted in any position, horizontal or vertical. Dual mounting capability: all clamps are ready for standard fittings and manifold mounting.
SIZES: Available in one size, double acting only – see Dimensions page for part numbers of clamp and optional jaws with adjustable swivel contact screw, as well as for dimensions of user-manufactured jaws. Clamping force at 3600 psi: CLAMPING ACTION: Parallel-Slide Floating Clamps can be used to clamp either inward or outward. Applying fluid pressure to the A port moves the jaw slides inward; applying pressure to the B port moves the jaw slides outward. The jaws move independently until they both contact the work piece, then exert clamping force equally on both sides. Applying pressure to the C (locking) port can be controlled automatically with a Sequence Valve in the clamping circuit, or manually by using a second clamping circuit.
MOUNTING: Choice of three mounting options: 1) for bottom mounting, using either standard fittings or manifold mounting, fasten with two socket-head cap screws inserted from above through counter-bored holes; 2) for front mounting using standard fittings, fasten with four socket-head cap screws threaded into the four tapped holes on the front side; 3) for end mounting using standard fittings, remove two out of the three socket-head cap screws fastening each side of the end cap, replacing them with four longer socket-head cap screws listed on the Dimensions page.
FLUID CONNECTION: Three 1/8" BSPP ports on the back side – A for retracting, B for extending, and C for locking. For optional manifold mounting, use the A, B, and C manifold ports underneath the clamp by unscrewing the sealing plugs and installing three CLR-3000-275-SW O-rings (also install two CLR-811-F Port Plugs in the 1/8" BSPP ports). Do not use NPT fittings.
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS: The clamping slide should occasionally be cleaned of dirt and chips, and lubricated using the grease fitting provided. During the floating stage before clamping, the clamping jaw that makes first contact will exert a small contact force (7 lbs maximum, depending on the stroke difference).
