CARACTÉRISTIQUES: These blank tooling plates are an important part of our new quick-change tooling system. Fixtures can be assembled off of the machine tool, then quickly mounted on a specially designed pallet subplate, with excellent locating repeatability. The same subplate excepts modular tooling plates, blank tooling plates for permanent fixtures, and Subplate Tooling Blocks. Blank tooling plates are finish ground on the bottom only Important: do not regrind the bottom of a blank tooling plate, to preserve the accurate fit of its receiver bushes with the tapered pins of the subplate.
PRINCIPES DE POSITIONNEMENT: Accurate location is provided by two tapered pins in the subplate, together with mating tapered receiver bushes in the tooling plate, similar to the way that a machine pallet itself is located in a horizontal machining centre. Pins and receiver bushes are made from hardened tool steel. Minimal contact area between tooling plate and subplate allows quick cleaning when changing fixtures. Patent number 5,788,225.
