FEATURES: Precision mounting base for optical targets and alignment telescopes. Holds spherical mounts concentric to .005" TIR. The base's outside diameter is machined at a 20° bevel to allow mounting a telescope bracket.
SIZES: One size fits all standard 3-1/2" spherical mounts Choice of two adjustment-screw threads (1-5/8"–16 or 1-1/2"–24) — see Dimensions page for part numbers.
INSTALLATION: Bolt base in position with three socket-head cap screws. After mounting, drill and ream the 15/64" holes to 1/4" diameter, to install dowel pins for secure location.
OPTIONAL COVER: Sturdy covers are available to protect Optical Cup Mounts from damage. Choose either a snap-on aluminium cover, or a bolt-on steel cover (order separately).
MATERIAL: Base > 60-45-10 cast iron, zinc plated clear chromate. Adjustment screw > 12L14 steel, black oxide finish. Socket-head cap screw > steel, black oxide finish. Snap-On Cover > Aluminium. Bolt-On Cover > Mild steel, galvanized. |
