Inch Serrations
FEATURES: Pointed Soft Jaws are ideal for small-diameter parts, as well as large-diameter parts, because the point allows closing nearer to the centre of the chuck. Standard point is a 120° included angle (some sizes have a slight flat at the tip). Standard steel jaws can be case hardened after machining, or left soft. Optional aluminium material reduces surface marring, ideal for chucking on finished surfaces. 1/16" x 90° serrations (3/32" x 90° serrations on jaws for 16" though 31.5" chucks).
SIZES: Available for chuck sizes from 6.5" to 31.5" diameter, in standard height and extra high — see Dimensions page for part numbers. Note: in most cases, two-jaw power chucks use the next-larger-diameter top jaws.
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS & SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: The "critical dimensions" shown in the dimension tables must match your master jaw, although outside dimensions can be different. Please check before ordering. When using extra-high top jaws, maximum allowable spindle RPM will be reduced somewhat. Please consult your chuck's operating manual.
MATERIAL (STEEL): 1018 steel.
