500 bar max Single and Double Acting
CARACTÉRISTIQUES: Hollow Cylinders have a hole through the center of their plunger to accept a stud or drawbar. The version shown here has a plunger extension underneath to prevent drawing in chips and coolant when the cylinder is used in inverted position. Useful for transmitting force to a remote location using a drawbar. Hollow Cylinders can be used for pulling or for pushing.
TROU DU CENTRE: The plunger's centre hole is threaded at the top end with counter-bored relief below. These threads can optionally be drilled out to the counter-bore diameter if an unthreaded centre hole is required. A threaded centre hole is ideal for pulling or pushing a drawbar. An unthreaded centre hole is useful if the clamp is removed for work-piece loading.
TAILLES: Available in six sizes, single acting and double acting – see Dimensions page for part numbers. Clamping force at 7500 psi:| | 2300 Lbs | | M6 stud | | | 7000 Lbs | | M10 stud | | | 11000 Lbs | | M12 stud | | | 17000 Lbs | | M16 stud | | | 27000 Lbs | | M20 stud | | | 44000 Lbs | | M24 stud |
ACTION DE BRIDAGE: Applying fluid pressure advances the plunger, pulling up a stud or drawbar inserted through the centre hole. Spring return (single acting) or fluid return (double acting).
CONSIDÉRATIONS DE CONCEPTION: Hollow Cylinders exert considerable force, so always use a grade 8 stud or equivalent drawbar at 5000 psi and above.
MONTAGE SUR BRIDE: Use either a threaded-hole or unthreaded-hole clamp. Mount on the clamp strap's center stud (longer stud usually required). Use a Spherical Washer underneath the clamp to compensate for clamp-strap angle. When using a threaded-hole clamp, install with a flexible hose because the clamp body will move slightly during clamping.
MONTAGE SUR PLAQUE DE BRIDAGE: Insert four socket-head cap screws through the flange base from above and screw into fixture (flange base must be ordered separately for M16, M20, and M24 sizes – fasten to clamp with four additional socket-head cap screws). Alternatively, insert cap screws up through the fixture plate and screw into the clamp from below.
MONTAGE À TRAVERS TROU: Insert four socket-head cap screws through the flange base from below and screw into fixture. Alternatively, fasten with optional lock nut (two required for M16, M20, and M24 sizes).
CONNEXION HYDRAULIQUE: 1/4" BSPP port (two for double-acting clamps). Do not use NPT fittings.
CONSTRUCTION: Plunger > Steel, case hardened. Body > Steel, black oxide finish. |
