Heavy Duty

Heavy Duty
Stainless Steel

Key Inserts are often used to reinforce tapped holes in aluminium tooling plates.

Repair Kits contain an installation tool and several inserts of a given size.

FEATURES: General-purpose threaded inserts with a thick, heavy-duty thread wall, suitable for most applications. Key Inserts are ideal for thread reinforcement, especially when the mating stud or bolt will be removed frequently. They provide strong, permanent steel threads in any parent material, ferrous, non-ferrous, or non-metallic. Key Inserts are also well suited for quick repair of stripped, damaged, or worn threads. Locking keys positively prevent the insert from rotating.

SIZES (STEEL): Available in a wide range of ID thread sizes:
 #10-24 to 1-1/2" NC Coarse
 #10-32 to 1-1/2" UNF Fine
 M5 to M24 Metric Coarse
 M8x1 to M24x2 Metric Fine

SIZES (STAINLESS): Available in a wide range of ID thread sizes:
 #10-24 to 3/4"-10 UNC Coarse
 #10-32 to 1/2–20 UNF Fine
 M5 to M24 Metric Coarse
 M8x1 to M12x1.25 Metric Fine

INSTALLATION: See Technical Information at the beginning of this section for complete installation steps. Key Inserts are installed with standard drills and taps. Important: Use exactly the tap-drill size specified in the tables (slightly larger than the standard tap drill for that thread size). Locking keys are driven down into the parent material during installation, providing a positive mechanical lock against rotation. See tables for optional installation tools, or for repair kits containing an installation tool and several Key Inserts of a given size.
