Purchasing Manager - St. Louis

Carr Lane Manufacturing has an excellent opportunity for a Purchasing Manager to work at a nationally recognized manufacturer located in St. Louis, Missouri.

Job Description:
The Purchasing Manager will direct purchasing of all materials and finished goods for the entire company according to defined scopes and specifications.  They will assist in developing policies, procedures, KPI’s, and goals for the purchasing department.  They will mentor and train buyers and coordinators to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness.  This is a working management role and may require direct purchasing for unique situations.  The Purchasing Manager will report to the CFO.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee buyers and coordinators.
  • Analyze historical usage and forecast, identify potential planning opportunities
  • Develop and improve purchasing policies and procedures to implement corporate policies and objectives
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders (production, engineering, customer service, etc.) and suppliers clearly and professionally
  • Maintain Purchasing Records such as policies and procedures for the purchasing department
  • Manage supplier reviews based on key performance indicators
  • Interact in a professional and positive manner with other departments to improve cross-functional processes and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 7-10 Years of purchasing experience in an ERP/MRP system
  • 3+ Years of materials management experience
  • Experience with MRP and ERP systems preferred
  • Strong time management and task prioritization skills required
  • Strong communicator and analytical thinker
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel
