KOSMEK Spring Advance Hydraulic Work Supports are single-acting, threaded-body work supports that eliminate chatter and prevent workpiece deformation during machining by providing firm support from the opposite side of the cutting load. In the spring advance configuration, the plunger is fully extended by spring force when hydraulic pressure is off. When the workpiece is placed on the fixture, the plunger depresses under the workpiece weight and balances at the contact point. Applying hydraulic pressure locks the collet, gripping the plunger firmly in position so it cannot be displaced even under heavy machining loads.

A collet gripping mechanism generates powerful support force via a wedge effect, while a larger gap between collet and plunger prevents sticking and ensures smooth action. An elastic spacer keeps the plunger pressed downward when locked, preventing tilting and eliminating clearance at the workpiece contact point. An exclusive scraper prevents accumulation of cutting chips and dust, and a built-in knockout function releases adherence after extended machine stops.

LD-E Spring Advance Hydraulic Work Supports are available in two threaded-body sizes (M26x1.5 and M30x1.5), with support forces of 3 and 4 kN at 70 Bar maximum hydraulic pressure. Effective stroke is 6.5 mm (Size 026) and 8 mm (Size 030). Low spring force (L) and high spring force (H) plunger options are available. Additional sizes and options are available. Made in Japan.
