The clamp assembly consists of two primary components: the hydraulic clamp unit and a receiver block. The clamp unit mounts to the pallet side and engages with the receiver block, which is attached to the fixture plate. Hydraulic pressure actuates the clamp, drawing the pallet downward and engaging the mechanical lock mechanism. The system provides locating repeatability of 3 micrometers, eliminating the need for fixture alignment inspection in the machining center. Air blow ports remove foreign material from seating surfaces, and optional seat check functionality allows gap sensing to verify proper engagement.
Two clamp configurations are available: Datum clamps provide absolute location with no relief in any axis, functioning as the primary locating point, while Guide clamps incorporate clearance for lateral movement. Guide clamps can be paired with Cut Block receiver blocks to orient relief in a single axis, creating a controlled secondary locating point. This combination allows proper kinematic constraint of the pallet using multiple clamps.
Receiver Blocks are interchangeable between Pneumatic Quick-Change Pallet Clamps and Hydraulic Quick-Change Pallet Clamps, allowing common pallet blocks across both clamping technologies. Clamps are available in four output force ratings: 4kN, 6kN, and 10kN. Clamp units and receiver blocks can be ordered separately to configure systems for specific applications.
