Ball Lock Pins & Quick-Release Pins
Carr Lane T-Handle Ball Lock Pins are high-strength, quick-release alignment pins designed for applications that require secure positioning with fast installation and removal. The large T-handle provides a substantial gripping surface and added leverage, making this handle style especially well-suited for frequent operation, production environments, and applications where operators wear work gloves.
These single-acting T-handle Ball Lock Pins remain positively locked in place until the release button is pressed. Pressing the button moves the center spindle forward, allowing the locking balls to retract so the pin can be quickly inserted or removed. When the button is released, the locking balls engage to securely retain the pin.
T-Handle Ball Lock Pins feature a precision-ground shank and are available in alloy steel or stainless steel. Inch sizes are offered in pin diameters from 3/16" to 1", with metric sizes from 5 mm to 20 mm. A variety of standard grip lengths are available, along with special grip lengths up to 12" (300 mm) and other made-to-order features.
The T-handle requires clearance on both sides of the pin, but its symmetrical design provides excellent grip and leverage for repeated operation. Carr Lane T-Handle Ball Lock Pins are made in the USA.
Carr Lane T-Handle Ball Lock Pins use a positive-locking, single-acting mechanism for quick and secure fastening. In the normal position, the locking balls extend from the shank to retain the pin. Pressing the release button advances the center spindle and allows the balls to retract into the pin body for insertion or removal. Releasing the button returns the locking mechanism to the engaged position.
The precision-ground shank provides accurate alignment for workholding, fixturing, tooling, assembly, and other applications where components must be repeatedly positioned and secured.
The T-handle design provides greater gripping area and leverage than lower-profile handle styles, helping reduce the effort required during frequent actuation. It is particularly useful in production environments, applications involving heavy work gloves, and locations where the pin may need to be operated without a clear line of sight.
Because the T-handle extends in both directions perpendicular to the pin axis, allow sufficient clearance on both sides of the handle when designing the installation.
